FINDING FOCUS AND CONFIDENCE IN THE MIDST OF CHANGE

When presentation coach and business owner Ginny Radmall prepared for her first child, she knew life and work were about to look very different.

She wanted to navigate that transition intentionally: protecting her thriving business while allowing space to become the parent she hoped to be. Through coaching, Ginny found the clarity, calm, and confidence to reshape her work and life in a way that felt sustainable and true to her.

IN THE MIDST OF CHANGE

A conversation with Ginny Radmall, presentation coach and business owner

Balancing Ambition and Parenthood
When Ginny Radmall was preparing to become a mother, she was running a thriving coaching business, The Ivy Way, working with startup founders and corporate leaders to help them present with confidence. But as her due date approached, uncertainty crept in.

“I had this real fear of what would happen to my business once I became a mum,” Ginny shared. “I didn’t know what the new normal would look like, or even how to begin planning for it.”

Ginny wanted to approach that transition intentionally, to prepare both emotionally and practically for how motherhood and business ownership could coexist. Coaching felt like the right support to help her navigate that change with clarity and purpose.

The Coaching Approach

From the outset, our work together focused on creating space, a pause in the noise,  so Ginny could think clearly and explore what mattered most.

Before her son arrived, Ginny had a series of sessions to help her articulate her hopes, name her fears, and shape the early stages of her maternity leave. She described this as “feeling more grounded than I otherwise would have been.”

Through reflective questioning, Ginny began defining her own version of success, one that balanced her passion for her business with the realities of new parenthood.

After her son's arrival, our sessions evolved to meet the new rhythm of life. Coaching became a place for clarity and self-compassion amid the fog of early motherhood. Ginny described it as “space to breathe, emotionally and psychologically.”

Together, we focused on small but consistent actions: creating flexible routines, setting boundaries, and developing tools to help her make confident choices about where to focus her time and energy.

"Coaching gave me the space and tools I needed at exactly the right time. A year later, my business is thriving, but more importantly, I feel in control of it. I have clearer boundaries, stronger confidence, and a greater sense of balance.

Coaching has been invaluable."

The Impact

Over time, Ginny’s mindset and her business shifted. Coaching gave her both the confidence and the structure to rebuild her work around her values.

“I think I would have stayed in a place of indecision without coaching,” she reflected. “It helped me get laser-focused on what really mattered,  what I wanted to prioritise, and what could take a back seat.”

Ginny returned to work with a renewed sense of purpose. She redefined her client offering, expanded her presence in the corporate sector, and continued leading high-impact workshops and keynote sessions, all while setting clear boundaries that protected her family time.

“My thinking fundamentally changed,” she said. “It was like I needed a new toolkit to match this new version of me, and coaching gave me that.”

Today, Ginny continues to run The Ivy Way with energy and intention, working with leading organisations while being fully present for her young family. Coaching didn’t just help her transition back,  it helped her thrive in this next chapter.

Ginny’s Reflections

“Coaching gave me the space and tools I needed at exactly the right time.

It helped me feel more grounded before becoming a parent, and more confident as I found my way back to work. The combination of reflection and practical action was so powerful, it meant I didn’t just talk about change; I could actually move forward.

A year later, my business is thriving, but more importantly, I feel in control of it. I have clearer boundaries, stronger confidence, and a greater sense of balance. Coaching has been invaluable.”
